Light on the Dark Universe: Cosmology and the Cosmic Microwave Background

Abstract:

I will review the standard picture of our Universe, its evolution and content in light of the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation. I will describe recent findings from observations and highlight its importance as a probe to test Dark Energy and the laws of gravity at scales much larger than galaxies. Finally, I will outline future plans, for theory and observations, to shed light on the Dark Universe.
