The proton, the leptoquark, and the graviton: Substructure and discoveries

Axel Maas, University of Graz

Abstract:

The standard model offers still a few surprises and discoveries. One of them is that most particles in it have a much larger content of the Higgs than usually expected. This appears to be accessible at the HL-LHC and future colliders.

This surprising feature can be traced back to gauge invariance, and is confirmed in lattice simulations. Moreover, beyond the standard model this leads to dramatic changes in predictions of particle spectra and viability of new physics scenarios, up to quantum gravity.

The basics, tests, and experimental predictions of these field-therotic improvements will be presented, and illuminated.
