The theory of cosmic inflation

Abstract:

I will review the arguments in favor of cosmological inflation and show how it offers a well-defined paradigm to compute the initial condition for inhomogeneities in our universe.
I will present and generalize Weinberg's construction of adiabatic modes and touch upon more advanced topics such as primordial non-gaussianity and cosmological soft theorems.
