Data science in risk, finance and beyond

Team d-fine, Frankfurt am Main

Abstract:

One consequence of the progressing digitalization in the (financial) industry is that (financial) companies are recording more and new - partly unstructured - data. These data have an indefinite but undoubted value, given a proper understanding and taking appropriate actions. The subject of data science are the methods, processes and systems used in the industrial, financial or healthcare sectors to extract knowledge and insights from data to define and implement accurate actions. But how does it work? What are the challenges and lessons learned? And why are physicists very well suited to answer such questions?

Come and join the lectures of the d-fine team to find answers to these questions and to gain deeper insight into this thrilling topic! With d fine being one of the leading providers of demanding quantitative and technical consulting projects in Europe, we will provide you with first-hand insights into our day-to-day project work - from classical financial institutions to energy companies and digital health, from quantitative finance to complex IT.
