Algebraic Geometry for Physicists
Ana Peón-Nieto, Heidelberg University
Abstract:
The aim of this course is to provide an introduction to algebraic geometry for phycists. I will cover basic material, such as varieties, schemes, divisors, sheaves, and intersection theory, focusing on the motivations and examples rather than formal proofs. Time permitting, elliptic fibrations and CY manifolds and moduli spaces will also be studied.
Required background:
Linear Algebra as taught in physics curriculum, differential geometry at the level of a good General Relativity course
